Overview
The Script Detection Threshold lets you control which scripts appear in the Admin, based on how often they’re detected. This helps reduce noise from rare scripts — like browser extensions — and lets you focus on the ones that matter.
How It Works
When the Source Defense sensor detects a script on your site, it counts how many times that script appears. The Script Detection Threshold tells the system how often a script must be seen before it’s shown to you.
Where to Find It
You can find this setting under:
Accounts Admin → Edit Site → Script Detection Threshold
🔒 Only Admin users can edit this setting. If you're a Read-Only user, the dropdown will be disabled.
Threshold Options
Option | Description |
---|---|
Low | Show all scripts, including those that appear only occasionally. Best if you want full visibility, including edge cases. |
Medium | Hide less frequent scripts. Ideal for most use cases — balances visibility with noise reduction. |
High | Show only scripts that appear consistently across your site. Recommended if you want to focus on common and potentially impactful activity. |
💡 Tip: Lower values may include user-specific scripts (like browser extensions). Higher values help you focus on consistent scripts across users.
Why Use It?
Some scripts may appear only once — for example:
- Browser extensions
- Antivirus tools
- Temporary A/B tests
- Local developer tools
Filtering them out helps reduce distractions and focus on the scripts that are consistently active across real traffic.
Who Can Edit It?
- Admin Users can view and change this setting.
- Read-Only Users can view it, but cannot make changes.
Need Help?
If you’re not sure which option is best, we recommend starting with Medium. You can adjust it anytime based on your traffic.
